Trees off Jump Mountain Road, 2012

Ambrotype on Black Glass
8 x 6.5 in

Unique 1/1

Framed

One-of-a-kind Ambrotype on black glass plate shot with a large-format camera and a lens that is more than 100 years old.

An ambrotype is a wet-collodion process popular during the Civil War, similar to a tintype, but the image is exposed directly to a wet light sensitized glass plate instead of a metal plate.

Each photographic plate has been artist-framed behind Museum Glass for a lifetime of crystal clear enjoyment.

Series: "Jump Mountain" has been described as a quiet and haunting tribute to the Shenandoah Valley landscape that Robert calls home.
